Make sure to mark your calendars around Christmas time to catch a spectacular parade on the water! The inaugural Nautical Christmas Light Parade took place on December 18, 2021, and was a resounding success. Approximately 20 private and commercial boats adorned with colorful Christmas lights graced the waterways, creating a breathtaking sight.
The parade kicks off at 5 PM from the docks, winding its way along the resort strip on Sandy Beach, through the Malecon area, and Old Port, before returning to the docks to conclude the festivities. This means you can relish the spectacle right from the comfort of your vacation rental!
While numerous other boats were eager to participate, some were unable to do so due to the expense of acquiring lights. To address this, the committee is soliciting donations for December 2022. If you have extra lights or wish to contribute, they can be dropped off at the Baja Cantina Hotel desk. This event is slated to become an annual tradition, coinciding with other art festivals and holiday festivities. Boat owners interested in participating in the 2022 parade are encouraged to reach out to Maru at Eco Fun Adventures.
